5 manieren om rust te vinden, ook op je werk

Sinds kort heb ik het Little book of calm at work op mijn bureau staan. Meestal werken van die zelfhulp boekjes niet zo bij mij, maar dit is een uitzondering. Dit boekje bevat originele tips, waar ik echt rustiger van wordt, ook als ik het heel druk heb op mijn werk. Dit is mijn top 5 lijst. Ik hoop dat je er ook wat aan hebt:

1. Go parking. Just a few minutes wandering through a leafy park or garden — even in the heart of the city — is a shortcut to balance and tranquility
2. Call it a day. At the end of every workday, give yourself permission to have the rest of the day off — to relax and indulge yourself. It might sound obvious, but so few do it.
3. Steal a calm hideaway. Find yourself a special place — a chair, a room, a corner — that you can associate with feelings of being calm and relaxed. Go there, and sit quietly whenever the need arises.
4. Relax on the other side of the goals. The steps along the way to achievement become more satisfying when you reward yourself for goals and targets realised.
5. Consort with the calm. Calm is catching. Enjoy being around calm people — not for the stimulation but for the peaceful feelings they spread.
